    Quiet corners create a space where children can retreat to, unwind and relax. For children on the spectrum, these spaces can be very important to have available at a playgroup. It allows the child somewhere to retreat to and unwind when they need a break from the excitement.

    Transition is a strategy used to support children to feel safe, secure and supported as they move through changes in the environment. They provide continuity and predictability that will allow children to prepare for expectations or changes that are about to occur.

    Children with ASD often have a preference for visual learning styles where they absorb and process information using the visual system. Visuals can help compliment the use of language and support the development of comprehension and verbal skills. This is particularly important in the early years as it can give them alternatives to expressing themselves while their language is still developing.

Beaumont Hills Little Buddies Mandarin Playgroup meets every Monday from 10am to 12pm with a wide range of fun activities laid out for the day. The aim of this playgroup is to provide a friendly, Mandarin speaking environment for all parents, carers and children in the area.
