This report is the major outcome of a research project that Playgroup Australia commissioned RMIT University’s Centre for Urban Research to conduct. The project sought to analyse the social and economic value of community playgroups. The 62-page report details the methodology, findings and conclusions, and includes a set of recommended actions to optimise playgroups’ role in community capacity building.

Telethon Kids Institute conducted research into the influence and impact of playgroups across Australia. The study found: Children who attend playgroups during early childhood have significantly better child development when they start school.
